10 on 10 November 2015 A Winner!

10 pictures on the 10th day of the month!
{Document a snapshot of your life & find beauty among the ordinary things in your day!}

Can you believe it? November 10th.....that means it is almost Thanksgiving!
October thru December is my favorite time of year...Fall...Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Love it all!

My day started off by bundling up.....it's cold here in California....the high has been in the 50's....Brr!!
We aren't used to that kind of cold weather, so we bundled up!
In the school parking lot, coffee in hand, ready to teach!
I love this weather! I really do!
I saw this meme & it totally cracked me up...it's so true!
I got new pens for correcting!!! I LOVE these pens!
They are perfect for grading & also writing things in my planner!

After school, I headed to pick up Luke...the trees are starting to change!
Bright blue skies & trees slowly changing colors...Fall in California!

Then Luke and I headed to our favorite place...Target!
After Target, Luke and I went shopping for bedroom furniture for his room. He is still in his crib & we had a crib tent on it...but it broke. He is 3 now...we are WAY overdue for him to be in a big boy bed.
We went to a few stores, but Pottery Barn Kids was having a sale with an extra 20% off & I got him THIS bed (its the one in the background)
I also got him THIS matching dresser because currently his crib/dresser is white and I am switching to wood for his bed.
Luke LOVED playing with this wooden construction set. He played with it for almost 30 minutes! I had to literally drag him out of the store.

His new furniture should arrive in 1-2 weeks. He is so excited for his new bed!

Then it was time to pick up the girls from school. About a month ago, I noticed this cute little pop up library that was put in on the corner of a street in our neighborhood. It's a Little Free Library!
Info on them HERE
I have been wanting to get some books from it, so we finally stopped! You borrow books & then return them. You can add your own books to the Library. SO fun!!
I got 3 books from this library.
For the girls I borrowed Ralph S. Mouse and for myself I borrowed Glitter and Glue & Reconstructing Amelia.
Has anyone read either of these books? They look good!

Once the girls were home, it was homework time!
Claire is working on her thankful Turkey feathers.
She is thankful for God & Jesus and also Grammy & her family.
So sweet.
She gets to decorate the feathers & then give a speech on them.

Our annual family photos are this week, so I laid out the outfits. I always lay them out to make sure everything flows together. I don't want to be too mathcy-matchy, but I want them to coordinate. After a few swaps here & there, this is what I ended up with for our final outfits:
Family photos....stressful, but worth it :)

Then it was time to get dinner ready. Because of the chilly weather, I was all about making comfort food....homemade spaghetti sauce. I add fresh mushrooms & fresh basil to my sauce. YUM.
Kate had her last soccer practice on Tuesday night! I won't miss taking her to practice since it is from 6-7 and right in the middle of dinner & getting ready for bed (our kids are in bed around 7:30/8, so late soccer practice has not been my favorite)
Then after the kids were in bed, it was time for Kevin & I to watch our latest Netflix obsession....How to Get Away with Murder! We started it last week and are loving it! We gave up on House of Cards....we were part way through Season 2 and weren't loving it, so decided to ditch it for now.
And, yes...that is a glass of wine and a leftover Reeses PB cup from Halloween (favorite candy!!) Yes, I had them in bed...that's how I roll. Don't judge ;)

So, there you have it! My 10 on 10 on November 10th!

Happy 10th of July!
Here is a sneak peek into our day!
My morning started off with coffee and checking in with my planner....I was in Tahoe last week and didn't open my laptop or planner for over a week. It was glorious, but I feel a little behind on life!
The girls have Performing Arts Camp this week, so while Luke watched cartoons, I got caught up on emails! And drank my coffee :)

Time to water my garden....finally getting some ripe tomatoes! YEAH!
Then it was time for my date with Luke. Since the girls are at camp during day Luke and I are going to be having some awesome 1 on 1 time this week. Today, he wanted to go see Cars 3 at the movies.
It was in 3D and we had the entire theater to ourselves! We both loved the movie! Super cute.

After our movie, it was time for Luke's haircut.

Then we went to the Post Office to mail some Rodan + Fields goodies to some customers!
Speaking of Rodan + Fields....our Lash boost regiemn bundle deal is BACK! You can save 30% on this bundle. It is good for new & current customers. Email me to place an order!
melissa_larson17@yahoo.com
We had a little picnic in the park...
Went to the library to return some books and check out new ones.
Luke and I had a fun day :)

The girls got home from camp and Kate decided to make Cow outfits. Tomorrow is Chik Fil A cow appreciation day, so if you go to Chik Fil A dressed up as a cow, you get a free entree. Kate was really excited about this and made everyone outfits.
She is even more excited that it is also 7-11 day and after we get free chik fil a, we will go get free slurpees at 7-11 :)

It was such a nice night, we had dinner outside.
I made teriyaki chicken kabobs with chicken, pinepapple & bell peppers. I also grilled some corn on the cob and made homemade sweet potato fries. I LOVE cooking in the summer with all the fresh foods! YUM!

After dinner, the kids swam while I checked out the deals for Amazon Prime Day!!!
What deals are you most excited about?
If you want an Instant Pot, get one now HERE!
I got this, this, this and this!
So glad this is also a deal of the day.....We love ours...buying another one for my mom for Christmas!

Then I headed to my nighttime Co-ed Indoor Soccer game!
We tied 5-5

So, there you have it. A sneak peek into our day.
It was a fun & busy summer day....hope you had a great 10th!

Here is my 10 on 10 for November 2009!
Claire was a happy girl this morning, despite the 3 new teeth that are coming in (2 molars & another bottom tooth):
Kate wasn't quite ready to wake up:
Ready to go to school with my new {pink} Coffee Bean travel mug that I got this weekend:
Claire with her Bear at 14 months. I can't believe I forgot to take this yesterday on her actual 14th month birthday!
(To see Claire with her Bear from the past year, click HERE)
Kate has been refusing to nap all week (no!!!!!) so she had some quiet time on our bed watching Sesame Street (Michelle Obama was on today's episode!)
LOVE Kate's green eyes!
Kate picked out her own shoes & socks today.....
View from my parent's front yard, only one fall colored tree. I am waiting patiently for the colors to change!!!!
Want to know how to get an almost 3 year old to cooperate with you at Trader Joe's?
Get them a balloon & an apple juice!
We made pumpkin bread tonight! YUM!
And, here is my mom's vintage 1967 Singer sewing machine that I borrowed today. I am going to "attempt" to learn how to sew. Wish me luck. My first project is going to be THIS. I am scared!

10 on 10 August 2012

10 pictures on the 10th day of the month!
{Document a snapshot of your life & find beauty among the ordinary things in your day!}

This edition of 10 on 10 is brought to you from hotel hospital.
I seriously feel like I am on vacation right now. Ha!
It is 100 degrees outside & I am in a wonderful, air conditioned hospital and bonding with my son(!!!!!)
The nurses are amazing & I am enjoying this special time with Luke while we both recover from his birth. I am feeling great & this has been my easiest recovery so far!

Here is a snapshot of our day from Room 3504.
Good morning, sweet boy.
"Room Service" brought me my breakfast.
Kevin arrived a little later & brought me a Vanilla Latte and went to the beverage station at the hospital and got me cranberry juice with pellet ice....best ice ever!
Kevin hanging with Luke while I showered. Kevin stayed with the girls at our house last night so he was missing his son.
My husband & our son. BOOM! Heart explosion.
Kevin went out & got me my favorite turkey sandwich that I have been craving all pregnancy.
Turkey, cream cheese, cranberry sauce & avocado. So good. I avoid deli meat when pregnant, so this sandwich hit the spot!
Presents in our room...flowers & a balloon that the girls brought us yesterday and a Vera Bradley Diaper Bag that our hospital gives each new mom.
Looks like he got my long toes. Sorry dude.
Birth. It's not glamorous. And neither is the recovery.
Watching the Olympics while feeding Luke.
Synchronized Swimming is just bizarre. I am so intrigued by it.
My dad & older sister both stopped by after work to visit us.
Luke's middle name, James is because of my dad Jimmy! And, Elyse brought me dinner & a big huge Diet Coke. It hit the spot.
Check out his fingernails...can you believe how long they are? Yikes. They are trimmed now.
So, there you have it...a glimpse of our August 10th.
So fun to be able to document Luke's 2nd day of life.
As much as I will miss the hotel hospital, I am excited to go home tomorrow and start our life as a family of 5.

10 pictures on the 10th day of the month!
{Document a snapshot of your life & find beauty among the ordinary things in your day!}

March 10th! Already! Time is flying!
Here is a snapshot of our day, which started of with coffee.
Lots of coffee was needed since we lost an hour of sleep due to Daylight Savings.
We had a lazy Sunday morning & the girls had Eggo waffles.
Kate trying to get Luke to crawl.

It was a beautiful day, in the 70's. Spring has sprung on this tree in our backyard.
I took down Luke's swing (sad) and put up his high chair. He looks so little in it (yay!)
The weather was so nice, I had lunch outside by the pool. Quesadilas with lots of salsa. I could eat salsa by the spoonful.
Playtime with Luke.
The girls playing tea with their dolls & stuffed animals.

Kate had T-Ball practice today. Love her team. It's going to be a fun season.

5:00....Time for some cheese, crackers & wine. Obessed with these crackers.
Kevin had to work today (boo) but when he got home there was still daylight out, so he worked in the yard, chopping down these huge bushes in our yard. We are re-doing part of our backyard & these bushes are going bye-bye.
These trees/bushes are massive. Kevin has been chopping them down for the past 4 months.
(They used to hang 2 feet over the grass)

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend & hope Daylight Savings didn't mess your sleep up too much!
