Still need a Father's Day present?
Tell Dad how much you care by encouraging him to complete a check-up in honor of Men's Health Week.
June21st - 27th is Men's Health Week.
On average, men are reluctant to visit the doctor's office for yearly visits. I think my husband has only been to our family doctor's office once since we were married. Whether it's their "tough guy" attitudes or their busy work schedules, men can find easy excuses to avoid scheduling an appointment.
Luckily for my husband, that's completely fine!
I appreciate that the informative graphic below explains that men in my husband's age range only need to complete a physical checkup a couple of times each decade. As long as Johnny continues getting his annual flu shot and lives a healthy lifestyle, he can almost completely avoid the doctor.
My Dad, on the other hand, does need to be aware of screenings and checkups that apply to his age range. It looks like some doctor's visits are in order for him. This coming Father's Day, talk with the special men in your life about maintaining their health. Encourage them to establish a relationship with their family doctor, and make a plan to stay around for many years to come.
As before with Women's Health Month, this infographic is presented by Oscar. They have multiple tools and services that help in finding out this information or making these necessary check-ups easy! If you're in New York or New Jersey, be sure to check out their health insurance plans.
